1. How do I use the downloader file if I'm using Firefox?
When downloading software through Mozilla Firefox, you may need to rename the file "downloader"
to "downloader.exe".
2. Where do the files go once I download them?
Once the files are downloaded, you can find them in the C:\Temp folder.
3. What do I do after I double-click on downloader and the download is complete?
In the
C:\Temp folder, find the file you just downloaded (for example, Access07.exe or
ExpressionWeb.exe) Double-click on the file and follow the instructions to extract all of the files from the
self-extracting archive. Once the files are extracted, find the folder to which you extracted the files (for
example, C:\Temp\Access07\Access07). You need to double-click the setup.exe file to start installation.
4. Where is the product key?
The product key is available from the Microsoft download site, under 'My Software". You will
need to click on the invoice number and then the software title.
5. What is my username and password?
You should receive an e-mail from the Microsoft Academic Alliance (e-academy) with your username
and password. Your username is your full uoregon e-mail address. You can use the
forgot password
link to retrieve your password if you can't find the e-mail.
6. All that was downloaded to my computer was a
single (.iso image) file. What do I do?
ISO files are an exact image of a whole CD or DVD. Use
WinRAR
to extract the files in a similar way to a zip file.
7. What software do I need to download?
For DSC340 and DSC340H, you need Access 2007 and Microsoft Expression Web.
For BA614, you need Access 2007.
For DSC488/588, you need Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.
